1. General

1.1.    These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between you and Luxair, Société Luxembourgeoise de Navigation Aérienne S.A., a public limited liability company (société anonyme) incorporated and existing under the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, having its registered office at 25 rue Gabriel Lippmann, L-5365 Munsbach, with postal address at L-2987 Luxembourg, registered with the Luxembourg Trade and Companies Register under number B 4109 (further on “Luxair”).

1.2.    By purchasing and/or using the Gift Card, this evidences your full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, which have been made available to you at the time of purchase and through the email which delivered the Gift Card, and also available on https://luxair.lu and https://luxairtours.lu

1.3.    No agent, employee or representative of Luxair has the authority to alter, modify or waive any of these Terms and Conditions.

1.4.    The following terms shall have the meaning as defined hereunder, unless the context otherwise requires: 

a. Gift Card (also “gift card”) means the digital card that can be purchased on the website https://giftcards.luxair.lu. It is a prepaid balance card that can be redeemed towards the purchase of flight-only tickets or travel packages, on the Luxair website https://luxair.lu or on LuxairTours website https://luxairtours.lu and on Luxair Mobile App.  

b. Date of issuance means the date of the original issuance of the Gift Card. 

c. Expiration date means the last date on which customer can redeem its Gift Card. It is also the last possible flight date. The Gift Card will expire on this date at end of the day: 23:59 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).

d. Extra Services means additional services selected by the customer with the purchase of a flight-only ticket or travel package, on the Luxair website https://luxair.lu or on LuxairTours website https://luxairtours.lu, and on Luxair Mobile App.

e. Voucher means the Compensation voucher and/or Residual value voucher offered by Luxair.

 

2. Purchase

2.1.    Luxair Gift Cards can be purchased on our website https://giftcards.luxair.lu. The Gift Cards are issued by our partner Qwikcilver Solutions Pvt. Ltd. 

2.2.    It is possible to pay for the Gift Card with the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

2.3.    You can order up to 10 Gift Cards in one and the same purchase. Each of the Gift Cards can be ordered for a specific minimum and maximum amount, which is mentioned on the Gift Card purchasing page. The minimum and maximum allowed amounts may vary depending on the type of the Gift Card.

2.4.    The Gift Card can be purchased for anybody who has a valid email address. The Gift Card can be purchased for oneself.

2.5.    You can schedule the delivery of the Gift Card for up to 60 days before the delivery date.

2.6.    The Gift Card balance will be valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of issuance of the Gift Card. The Gift Card expiration date is mentioned in the email by which the Gift Card was delivered.

2.7.    After making the purchase of the Gift Card, you will receive an order confirmation and payment confirmation in your email inbox.

2.8.    The recipient of your Gift Card will receive in the email the Gift Card with the selected image and value. It will include the number of the Gift Card, the PIN code, and the link to the Terms and Conditions and to Luxair Security and Privacy Policy. The delivery of the email may take up to 24 hours.

If you have selected “Delivery for later”, then the Gift Card will be delivered on the date you have selected.

 
3. Terms of Usage

3.1.    The Gift Card is nonrefundable. It cannot be paid out in cash, or transferred against value, under any circumstances. Further sale of Gift Card is likewise not permitted.

3.2.    The Gift Card can be used multiple times, within the validity period, until the total balance of the Gift Card has been used completely. After the expiration date the Gift Card cannot be used, renewed or reactivated, nor can any unused remaining balance on the Gift Card be claimed or redeemed for cash. No refunds or credit note shall be issued for unused part of the Gift Card.

3.3.    Gift card(s) cannot be redeemed for the purchase of further Gift Card(s).

4. Redeem your Gift Card

4.1.    Gift Cards can only be used for the purchase of flight-only tickets and travel packages from Luxair websites https://luxair.lu or from LuxairTours website https://luxairtours.lu and on Luxair Mobile App. Holidays à la carte packages, Luxair City break packages or other stand-alone services available on the aforementioned websites cannot be booked with a voucher.

4.2.    The Gift Card can be redeemed until its expiration date, which is mentioned in the email by which the Gift Card was delivered. The Gift Card expires on the mentioned expiration date at 23:59 UTC.

4.3.    The flight must be completed at maximum 6 months after the expiration date of your Gift Card.

4.4.    The Gift Card can be redeemed during the booking process, initiated either on https://luxair.lu, or on https://luxairtours.lu, or on the Luxair Mobile App. Before the payment page, you can enter the Gift Card number and PIN Code in the respective fields.  

4.5.    Currently, it is not possible to jointly redeem Promotional Code(s) together with a Gift card(s) or a Voucher(s).

4.6.    The redemption of the Gift Card may be restricted for specific days, called blackout dates. If you have the departure or the arrival date on one of these dates, you will not be able to redeem your voucher for that specified period. This blackout dates can be verified in the Check balance section on https://giftcards.luxair.lu.

4.7. Gift Card(s) or Voucher(s) can be used for payment of additional travel insurance for travel packages booked from https://luxairtours.lu. For flight-only tickets purchased from https://luxair.lu and on Luxair Mobile App, it is currently not possible to add Luxair’s travel insurance to your booking if you use your Gift Card(s) or Voucher(s) for payment.

4.8.1    In case of purchase of a flight-only ticket, the Gift Card amount will be applied to the total flight fare (fare, taxes, and Extra Services if selected). When making a payment with the Gift Card, in case the booking amount is equal or exceeds the available credit, the Gift Card will be fully used. Therefore, the entire transaction payment should be made with the Gift Card or if the booking exceeds the Gift Card balance, the remaining amount must be paid with another accepted form of payment: credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express) or other accepted Gift Card(s) and Voucher(s). Payment with the Gift Card cannot be combined with PayPal payment. If there is any credit left after your transaction, the value of the Gift Card will be adjusted and will remain valid under the same conditions (no refund or extension possible).

4.8.2   In case of purchase of a travel package, the Gift Card amount will be applied to:

• the deposit if booking is made more than 30 days before departure. The total Gift Card amount will be used to cover the deposit.
• If the deposit amount is lower than the Gift Card amount, the deposit amount will be recalculated to be equal to the Gift Card amount.
• If the deposit amount is higher than the Gift Card amount, the full Gift Card amount will be used and the remaining payment will need to be made with Credit Card or PayPal.

• the total travel package price (fare and taxes, hotel and taxes, and Extra Services if selected). When making a payment with the Gift Card, in case the booking amount is equal or exceeds the available credit, the Gift Card will be fully used. Therefore, the entire transaction payment should be made with the Gift Card or if the purchase exceeds the Gift Card balance, the remaining amount must be paid with another accepted form of payment: credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express), Paypal or other accepted Gift Card(s) and Voucher(s).If there is any credit left after your transaction, the value of the Gift Card will be adjusted and will remain valid under the same conditions (no refund or extension possible). 

4.10.    You can use up to three forms of payment for one purchase, combining Gift Card(s), Voucher(s) and any accepted credit card.

4.11    Any flight-only tickets paid totally or partially with Gift Card(s) or Voucher(s) are nonrefundable. In case the flight is cancelled by Luxair, or by the customer (in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the fare family of the purchased ticket(s)) a residual value Voucher will be issued.

4.12.1 Any travel package paid totally or partially with Gift Card(s) or Voucher(s) are nonrefundable. In case a travel package paid totally or partially with Voucher(s) or Gift Card(s) is cancelled by Luxair, or by the customer (in accordance with the Luxair Tours General Terms and Conditions of Sale) the portion of the travel package paid with the Voucher(s) or Gift Card(s) will be returned to the customer under the form of a new Residual Value Voucher.

4.12.2 In case a travel package paid totally or partially with Voucher(s) or Gift Card(s) is cancelled and is subject to payment of fees, the customer will receive a new Residual Value Voucher reduced by the fee amount.

5. Liability and risk of loss

5.1.    The risk of loss and title for Gift Card pass to the purchaser upon our electronic transmission of the Gift Card to the purchaser or designated recipient.

5.2.    Luxair is not responsible if any Gift Card is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without recipient’s permission. Neither Luxair nor Luxair’s agent, employee or representative is obligated to request a person presenting this Gift Card to identify himself/herself. 

5.3.    Luxair does not accept any liability in the case that the email address of Gift Card recipient is misspelled.

6. Miscellaneous

6.1.    Luxair reserves the right to modify and otherwise change these Terms and Conditions at any time in its sole discretion. These modifications or changes shall not impact the Gift Cards that have already been purchased.

6.2.    These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire and only understanding between the Luxair and you, and replace any prior understandings or agreements (whether oral or written) relating to the subject matter hereof.

6.3.    The failure of Luxair to exercise any of its rights shall not be construed as a waiver or relinquishment of the future performance of any of its rights, and your obligations with respect to such future performance shall continue in full force and effect.

6.4.    If any clause contained in these Terms and Conditions becomes void, unenforceable or prohibited in any jurisdiction, this will not affect the validity and enforceability of the other clauses in these Terms and Conditions, or of these same clauses in other jurisdictions. In such cases, Luxair and you agree to replace the clause that is void, unenforceable or prohibited with a valid, enforceable clause in the spirit of the original.

6.5.    These Terms and Conditions are drafted in English. If translated into a language other than English for any purpose, the English version shall prevail and be paramount in the event of any differences, questions or disputes concerning the meaning, form, validity, or interpretation of these Terms and Conditions. 

6.6.    These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Luxembourg. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Luxembourg, for settlement of any dispute which might arise as a result of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.

6.7.    These Terms and Conditions shall be read in conjunction with our General Conditions of Carriage, Security and Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Terms of Use.
